Italian Fallen Workers (in Canada) Memorial Project: fundraising campaign by Villa Charities and the Memorial Committee

The Consulate General wishes to inform that Villa Charities and the Italian Fallen Worker Memorial Committee have launched the Finishing the Memorial project fundraising campaign inviting the Italian-Canadian community to financially donate in order to completing the task.

All the details on the proposals to complete the project and the modalities on how to contribute to the campaign can be found in the attached leaflet.

The Italian Fallen Workers Memorial erected in the gardens of the Columbus Center (Toronto) has been inaugurated in 2016 but its long term objective has not been accomplished yet.

In 2017 the Italian Fallen Workers Memorial Committee and Villa Charities were awarded the Gold Medal for Civil Valor by the President of the Italian Republic for the efforts in making the Memorial a reality,  with the task of commemorating all the names  (unfortunately thousands) of those Italian workers  fallen in Canada in a digital  form.
