Today, May 15, 2026, the inauguration ceremony for the new Honorary Vice Consulate took place in Guelph, attended by Consul General Luca Zelioli and the city’s Mayor, Cam Guthrie.
The reopening of the honorary office was possible following a long process that led to the identification and appointment of Honorary Vice Consul Pietro Titone (please note that Honorary Vice Consuls are volunteers).
The Honorary Vice Consulate, vacant since 2018, will once again be able to provide support to the Italian and Italian-Canadian communities residing in Waterloo and Wellington Counties, within the limits of an honorary office, under the supervision of the Consulate General in Toronto.
