Consul General Luca Zelioli had the privilege to open this morning the event “The most beautiful Borghi of Italy”, organised by the homonymous Italian Associaton and the Italian National Tourism Board (office of Toronto) and hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute.
The Associaton Chair, Fiorello Primi, has presented to a public of mainly Canadian travel agents and tour operators the philosophy and beauty of the historic Borghi, the activities of the Association in offering a fascinating and alternative Italy to visit.
The initiative may be appealing in particular to the large Italian-Canadian community living in Ontario, promoting the concept of “Tourism of the roots”. Most of the Canadians of Italian descent came originally from those very same Borghi.
They can now rediscover their ancestral homes in new, culturally fantastic as well as sustainable ways, thanks to the Association, which has released also a new guide in English, “The most beautiful Borghi of Italy”.
