{"id":1969,"date":"2023-09-14T22:57:55","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T20:57:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/constoronto.esteri.it\/?p=1969"},"modified":"2023-09-14T22:57:55","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T20:57:55","slug":"efforts-started-to-improve-the-citizenship-by-descent-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/constoronto.esteri.it\/it\/news\/dal_consolato\/2023\/09\/efforts-started-to-improve-the-citizenship-by-descent-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Efforts Started to Improve the Citizenship by Descent Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Consulate General of Italy in Toronto is engaging in a <strong>vast effort<\/strong> <strong>to improve<\/strong> the \u201c<strong>Italian citizenship by descent<\/strong>\u201d <strong>application procedure<\/strong>, with the aim of <strong>freeing slots<\/strong> and <strong>make a new, more efficient calendar available as soon as possible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Against this background, <strong>applicants<\/strong> for citizenship by descent <strong>who have already booked an appointment through Prenot@mi<\/strong>\u00a0 between September 2023 and March 2024 (to be followed by those having booked in the period April \u2013 December 2024) <strong>will receive an email from the Consulate<\/strong>, with a suggested date for a new (<strong><u>earlier!<\/u><\/strong>) appointment.<br \/>\n<strong>Applicants are strongly encouraged to accept the newly scheduled EARLIER appointment.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Some applicants have already received such email, some others are going to receive it in the coming weeks.<br \/>\nIf you have booked an appointment via Prenot@mi for citizenship by descent services, kindly <strong>check your registered email on a regular basis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Failing to respond to an email from the Consulate may result in an appointment cancellation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This present effort is indicating that MANY users with a booked appointment are no longer interested in it or do not have the required documents or have booked by mistake a \u201ccitizenship by descent\u201d appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you have booked your appointment through Prenot@mi for citizenship by descent services but you are no longer interested, please cancel it directly on Prenot@mi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This will help us free slots and provide a better service to the many users who, in the past months, have expressed their willingness to apply but were also frustrated with the lack of available appointments.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><strong>Help us to help you.
