A Schengen visa for sports competition<\/strong> allows entry, for a short stay (less than 90 days)<\/strong>, to athletes, coaches, technical-sports directors, athletic trainers<\/strong> who intend to participate or are invited to participate (both amateur and professional) in single competitions<\/strong> or a series of sporting events organized in Italy by national sports federations<\/strong> or by associated sports disciplines recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    1. Proof of residence<\/strong> within the Toronto consular jurisdiction area: domestic utility bill or driver\u2019s license (original and a photocopy)<\/li>\n
    2. For non-Canadians, proof of legal residence in Canada<\/strong>: Canadian permanent residence card or visa valid for at least three months after the date of re-entry (original and a photocopy).<\/li>\n
    3. For travelers not returning to Canada after leaving the Schengen area:\u00a0relevant visa or travel document authorizing entry into the Country of destination, and a photocopy.<\/li>\n
    4. Electronic Schengen Visa application form<\/strong><\/a> carefully and correctly completed and signed. Please ensure that you leave no blank spaces. If a question does not apply to you, enter N\/A (not applicable). Be sure to print the form in high resolution.<\/li>\n
    5. One recent passport-size colour photo<\/strong>\u00a0(must have been taken less than six months before the application), size 35mm x 40mm, full-face and light coloured background. Face must be correctly centred and must be seen from a front view, with both sides visible. Styled poses (looking over one shoulder, head bowed etc.) are not allowed. The head must be free of all headgear, no hats, scarves, headbands or other decorative objects.<\/li>\n
    6. Your passport<\/strong>, which must be valid for at least 3 months after the visa expiry date, as well as photocopies of the first 2 pages and of visas previously issued, if any. Furthermore, there must be at least two blank pages in the passport.<\/li>\n
    7. Prepaid Xpresspost post envelope<\/strong> (or any Courier Service<\/strong> prepaid and self addressed envelope) with your address already filled (TO) and the Address of the consulate as sender (FROM), with a photocopy to return your passport. Please be aware that the Consulate does not take responsibility for applications, passports or money order lost by the postal\/courier services.<\/li>\n
    8. The visa fee<\/strong> paid in Canadian dollars. Visa fees can be paid at the counter, preferably by Canadian debit card (credit cards cannot be accepted) or alternatively in cash or through money order\/bank draft payable to the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto (Canadian dollars only). Because of the fluctuation of the exchange rate, the type of visa<\/span><\/span> and duration of stay, the fees are subject to change. <\/span><\/span>Please refer to the dedicated page<\/a> on this website.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    9. A copy of your<\/span><\/span> round trip flight reservation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> or ticket and full itinerary<\/strong>. Buying your ticket in <\/span><\/span>advance does not ensure that a visa will be issued.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    10. Hotel booking<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span> for each day of your stay in the Schengen area stating number of reservation,<\/span><\/span> name of the applicant, address and telephone number of the hotel,<\/span><\/span> OR<\/span><\/span> letter of invitation <\/span><\/span>(declaration of hospitality),<\/span> signed by the person invi<\/span>ting, plus a copy of his\/her ID (<\/span>in case of<\/span> person without Italian citizenship, copy of his\/her Italian permanent residence permit<\/span>,<\/span> \u2018\u2019 Permesso<\/span> di soggiorno\u2019\u2019)<\/span>. <\/span>I<\/span>f you are a member of a group<\/span>: letter from the travel agency mentioning the same information as<\/span> for individuals.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    11. <\/span>Invitation letter from either CONI<\/strong>, the relevant Italian Sports Federation or the organizing body<\/strong> that certifies the person concerned is attending the event and requests the issue of the visa.<\/li>\n
    12. Proof of financial means of support<\/strong><\/span><\/span> (as per Ministry of Interior Directive 1.3.2000<\/span><\/span> DIRETTIVA<\/span><\/span>1\u00b0 marzo 2000 (esteri.it)<\/span><\/span>): last three months bank statements clear<\/span>ly indicating the name of the holder and<\/span><\/span> salary slips if applicable. <\/span><\/span>If you are financiall<\/span><\/span>y dependent on a family member<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> you must provide an<\/span><\/span> Affidavit of financial <\/span><\/span>support<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, together with a copy of his\/her picture I<\/span>D and his\/her last three months<\/span> bank statements. <\/span><\/span>Signatures must be certified by a public notary.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    13. A<\/span><\/span> travel medical insurance<\/strong> policy<\/span><\/span> valid throughout the Schengen area. Please unde<\/span><\/span>rline or highlight<\/span><\/span>: your name, the medical emergency expenses coverage (minimum \u20ac 30,000) including<\/span><\/span> hospital care and repatriation for medical reasons or in case of death<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/details>\n

      If you cannot find any available time slots on Prenot@mi, we suggest that you log in after a few hours or in one or two days and, in general, we advise to check regularly (particularly around 6pm Toronto time) for available slots as the situation my change quickly.
