The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes every year, generally between March and April, the announcement for many scholarships for studying in Italian public universities, intended for foreign citizens or Italian residing abroad.

The Canadian government encourages its citizens to study in Italy through many international scholarships.

The Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto publishes a list of bursaries offered by private Italian language schools.

The Italian-Canadian Youth Association published a comprehensive list of scholarship opportunities available to Canadian students (registration required).

At the McMaster University of Hamilton (Department of Linguistics and Languages), since 2003 the Italian Cultural Institute awards "The Consul General of Italy Book Prize in Italian" ($150 for the purchase of books) to the student who has attained the highest grade in a Level I course in Italian.

Toronto's Club Toscano offers the "President's Award" ($1000) to a deserving university or college student of Tuscan origin.
